Baker Street was released in 1978 as a single and is also included in Rafferty's second album "City to City". It was named after the famous London street where the detective Sherlock Holmes lived. When in London Rafferty often stayed at a friend's flat in that street during that time. The song has a short soprano saxophone part but got really famous for its alto saxophone break played by R. Ravenscroft. Baker Street became a huge hit for George Rafferty. There have been numerous cover-versions of the tune, and it was also featured in an episode of The Simpsons, entitled Lisa's Sax.
