Promenade (Pictures at an Exhibition) (Modeste Mussorgsky) Sheet Music
Artist: Modest Mussorgsky (also known as Musorgsky Moussorgski), The Piano Guys
Writer: Al Van Der Beek, Steven Sharp Nelson (The Cello Guy), The Piano Guys, Modest Mussorgsky, Hans-Gunter Heumann
Mussorgsky wrote the piano cycle Pictures at an Exhibition after visiting an exhibition of his friend, Victor Hartman. Each piece is a musical representation of a chosen painting, with The ballet of the Unhatched Chicks being a particularly vivid example of this. In between each picture, Mussorgsky placed a Promenade to represent the visitor's moving from one painting to the next. There are several Promenades, but they are all based on the same theme, and our arrangements incorporate all the themes of the different Promenades.

Pictures at an Exhibition was featured on the BBC's Play It Again TV program when Robert Winston tried to learn to play it on the Alto Sax.
